หลักไวยากรณ์ภาษาอังกฤษ

Words 

ชนิดของคำในภาษาอังกฤษมี 8 ชนิดด้วยกัน คือ
1. Nouns (คำนาม)
เช่น God, man, John, American, friend, star, stone, air, mile, beauty ใช้เรียกคน สัตว์ สิ่งของ แนวคิด นามธรรม และความเชื่อ

2. Pronouns (คำสรรพนาม)
เช่น I, you, he, she, my, your, his, that, who, what, which, one, some ใช้เรียกแทนคำนาม จะได้ไม่ต้องเอ่ยนามนั้นซ้ำอีก

ตัวอย่าง:

John works at the hospital.	He is a doctor.
Kate is my friend.	I know her well.
A book is on the desk.	The book which is on the desk is about history.
The children are playing outside.	Some of them are crying.

3. Adjectives (คำคุณศัพท์)
ใช้ขยาย noun กับ pronoun เพื่อบรรยายให้เห็นลักษณะของ noun กับ pronoun ชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้น แบ่งออกเป็น adjective สำหรับบอกลักษณะ บอกปริมาณ และบอกจำนวน
     - Qualifier Adjectives หรือคำคุณศัพท์ที่ใช้บอกลักษณะ เช่น beautiful, healthy, kind, poor, fast, dry, black
